Why I Started Sculpting Yonis: Reclaiming My Power as a Woman

I didn’t start sculpting Yonis because I wanted to be provocative. I started because I needed to remember.

I needed to remember my body as sacred—not something to be hidden, judged, or controlled.

I needed to remember that my voice, my softness, and my sensuality were not things to be ashamed of. And in a world that constantly tries to strip women—especially Black women—of softness, power, and autonomy, I chose to create something that couldn’t be ignored.

My Yoni sculptures began as a way to process what I couldn’t always say out loud. Over time, they became more than just art—they became altars, reminders, and reclamations.

Each piece I make is a reflection of my journey back to myself. Of choosing not to shrink. Of honoring the womb, the source, the portal.

This isn’t just about anatomy. It’s about energy. The divine feminine lives in all of us—and when we connect to that energy, we heal. We expand. We become unstoppable.

Sculpting yonis has allowed me to reclaim my narrative on my own terms. And through my art, I hope other women feel seen, powerful, and deeply enough—just as they are.

Because you don’t have to be loud to be powerful. You just have to remember who you are.
